Putnam County, Illinois

Putnam County EMA never had any fixed facilities. Grants were secured to construct a new Emergency Operations Center and Equipment Storage Facility. Putnam County acquired the former Steelworkers Union Hall and started the daunting process of renovating the building into a state of the art Emergency Operation Center.
Our team examined the current building and identified Putnam County EMA’s requirements for the build. We created a conceptual design based on the available space and budget. County leaders used our conceptual design to create bid and construction documents.
Putnam County EMA Director Jim Goldasich was instrumental in the EOC design. We conducted visits with Jim all over the state of Illinois, looking at other county EOC’s and gathering information for the Putnam County EOC design. Shortly after construction was completed EMA Director Jim Goldasich passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
Our team is proud to have assisted in the creation of the James Goldasich Preparedness and Training Facility.
